Now, Tecno is the new Toyota in the mobile telephony world.
Every Tom, Dick, Harry, Mary and Caroline proudly brandishes one of those things with so much pride you think it is a token.
I am yet to decide why exactly this Tecno frenzy is all over, but I guess the cheap prices for “great” specs is to blame. A typical case of the cheapest item attracting most attention.
For those of us who have no idea what I am talking about, Tecno phones are those simcard holders with a music system so loud you’d mistake them for a home theatre. I once had a friend who would carry his to house parties. Just in case KPLC pulled a “now you see me, now you don’t” on us and we’d be rendered music less. That phone of his never disappointed.
Okay. Before y’all Tecno users crucify me for having “so much love” for your pathetic examples of phones, tell me, how many times do you have to throw your phone in the freezer for it to cool down?
I bet the “Phone on heat frenzy” is too good that even Infinix wants a share of the same.
I am not complaining though. Everyone needs a gadget that can multitask. A phone-cum-iron box is the specialty here.
Oh! And by the way, I’d rather get a stone hurled at me than a Tecno phone. Those things are heavy enough to anchor a ship!
This might come as a shocker but I have been under the Tecno spell once. That means whatever I am writing here is entirely out of experience. Yes. Utter experience. A very nasty one to be precise.
You see, I once owned a Tecno phantom A. it was the crème-de-la-crème of phones back then. I mean, it had an 8MP back camera amongst other major features. And just like any other Tecno phone, well, most of them, it was running on a mediatek chipset!
It was a honeymoon affair for the first 6 months till it started misbehaving.
If you own a “high end” Tecno phone you are well aware that those things come with a power bank. Have you ever asked why? They say it’s a bonus.
Ha-ha! It is not a bonus. It is Tecno’s way of telling you “THIS BATTERY SUCKS!”
How about that flip cover? Hehe. It should be pretty obvious.
How about them screens? They are as good a windscreen on a foggy night! Both hardware and display quality.
If you ask me, Tecno has gained popularity in 3rd world countries because majority of the population in such places consists of people who want stuff they cannot afford. I mean, how on earth does one expect to have a phone with 1GB RAM, 16GB ROM and a 16MP camera at $150 max? It’s just insanity.
But then Tecno (which by the way is a close relative of Itel and Infinix) discovered that by using mediocre chip-sets, boards, cameras and many more shenanigans used in constructing phones , they would probably provide stuff the general public wants at a price they can afford.
That is probably the reason why the maximum lifespan of a Tecno phone is approximately 2 years. If it exceeds that, the mobile phone technician at the corner of the street gets promoted to your speed dial.
Anyway, that’s just too much love for a single phone.
To all folks with those things out there, no hard feelings. I am just trying to provide an “in-depth review” of them phones in a way I deem best.
We all have our u-Nick ways of showing love. Right?
I have nothing against these phones. But if you own one you know where you belong in the society.

Every company no matter how big began with some flaws, so instead of hating, just appreciate what Samsung and other phone manufacturers couldn't offer, affordable prices. We don't buy names, we buy performance. This article is malicious, I totally disagree with your opinion.
